Overview

The Senior Associate, Accounts Payable will be responsible and accountable for managing the intake of requests from Insmed’s suppliers and employees. This includes, but is not limited to, responding to support tickets to assist with the resolution of requests, providing requested documentation as appropriate, and investigating and resolving inquiries. The position will also be required to apply judgment to determine when inquiries need to be delegated or escalated to the appropriate team member.

Responsibilities will also include processing invoices, making payments, collaborating with colleagues within the procurement function, as well as ad hoc projects primarily focused on gaining efficiencies within the Accounts Payable space.

The ideal candidate will be able to process data efficiently with a compliance mindset, be able to work independently, and have the ability to multitask. This position will be required to maintain positive relationships with employees and suppliers, while enforcing Insmed’s policies and procedures, in order to maintain the integrity of financial records.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 

  • Managing intake of requests from suppliers and employees
  • Work with internal stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and related payments
  • Review and match invoices with purchase orders in accordance with the Company’s 3-way and 2-way match policies
  • Address and resolve outstanding invoices
  • Review invoices processed via IDR (aka OCR) by ensuring the data was read accurately
  • Routing invoices for approval and following up for approvals as needed
  • Process manual checks, ACH and wire payments
  • Communicate with suppliers and research invoice discrepancies
  • Troubleshoot and work with Procurement, IT, and/or outside suppliers to identify and correct system issues
  • Monitor payment status of supplier accounts and invoice approvals
  • Monitor invoices on hold on a frequent basis to ensure timely payment
  • Assists with month end and quarter end closure of the AP subledger in Oracle Cloud
  • Oversee the preparation and process Sales/Use Tax quarterly payments
  • Perform and review tests in UAT to verify systems are accurately working and the functionality is as required
  • Gathering supporting documents as needed for SOX requirements
  • Ad hoc projects to improve efficiencies for the overall procure-to-pay process

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be able to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace
  • Experience working in the Oracle Cloud ERP system is a plus
  • Minimum Associates degree in a related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees. The base salary range for this job is from $84,000.00 to $118,667.00 per year
