Overview

A unique opportunity to enable the successful execution of an industry-leading patient services program for an innovative biotech organization, dedicated to improving the lives of patients battling serious and rare diseases. Reporting to the Manager of Case Managers, the Case Manager will have direct responsibility for welcoming, onboarding and on-going service of patients to the Arikares program in their respective region.

The Case Manager will be a key member of the Patient Services team, and will partner closely with field sales, market access, clinical education teams, and specialty pharmacies to ensure a seamless patient and health care professional experience.

This position requires a minimum 1 day working onsite in our Bridgewater, NJ corporate HQ.

The hours for this role will be 11am - 8pm.

Responsibilities

Additional representative responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 

Deliver an Industry-Leading Patient Experience:

  • Demonstrates commitment to putting patients first in everything you do.
  • Understand a patient’s support needs, and interaction preferences, to deliver upon a seamless, tailored patient experience that helps each patient complete their treatment as prescribed by the HCP (Healthcare Professional).
  • Establish an ongoing relationship with each assigned patient within assigned region, starting with welcome, onboarding, treatment initiation, continuation, and leading up to their treatment completion.
  • Monitor each patient along their treatment journey, and proactively resolve any emerging treatment continuation barriers.
  • Communicate timely and effectively with each assigned patient such as treatment expectations and patient insurance benefit information.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all patients within the assigned region.
  • Communicate patient treatment status, as needed, with patient’s HCP office (aligned to HCP office communication preferences).
  • Serves as a patient advocate and act as a ‘quarterback’ on behalf of the patient to coordinate timely treatment initiation, training, and ongoing shipments across HCP office and specialty pharmacy.

Orchestrate the patient treatment journey through collaboration and teamwork:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders, Patient Access Lead (PAL), Clinical Educators and Therapeutic Specialists to ensure seamless patient experience.
  • Works closely with Clinical Educator partner to schedule patient treatment initiation training and follow-up, as needed.
  • Communicates regularly with PAL to improve workflow efficiencies and understand reimbursement trends.
  • Hold weekly regional calls to include Therapeutic Specialists, Patient Access Lead (PAL) and Arikares Trainers to discuss current cases and regional trends.
  • Maintains open communication with HCPs and Specialty Pharmacies to ensure timely case status update.
  • Reports any adverse events and/or product quality complaints with 24 hours of awareness to appropriate departments within Insmed.

Achieve ARIKAYCE patient support program goals:

  • Successfully deliver upon patient support program goals, including pre-defined KPIs (time-to-fill, start rate, continuation rate, and compliance).
  • Manages regional case load in a timely and efficient manner, as defined by SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Identifies trends regarding program enrollment delays, shipment delays, patient concerns, etc. and reports to Case Management leadership.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings; recognizes opportunities for improvement, concerns or issues and identifies solutions - Follows all requirements associated with compliance to program guidelines and relevant regulations, including HIPAA and patient privacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience with at least 2 years in pharmaceutical or biotech case management
  • Working knowledge and experience with health insurance and Rx reimbursement, specifically in specialty drugs
  • Understands HIPAA and privacy laws and requirements and maintains patient confidentiality
  • Experience with Adverse Event and Product Quality Complaint reporting
  • Maintains compliance with program business rules, standard operating procedures and guidelines
  • Case management skills required
  • Patient-centricity, empathy and compassion
  • Curiosity, investigation, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees. The base salary range for this job is from $70,000.00 to $94,000.00 per year
