Responsibilities:
·Personal and entitytax returns
·Reviews taxreturns/work files for completeness, accuracy and compliance; communicates withand trains staff on areas needing improvement
·Assumes theresponsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns
·Monitors tax deadlinesto ensure that returns are prepared on a timely basis; communicates withmanagers during the preparation process to identify any tax issues needingaddressing and to pull jobs so that they reach the technical review stagetimely
·Monitors and analyzesall incoming tax notices and drafts responses
·Trains interns/staffto prepare effective responses to tax notices and reviews for accuracy
·Performs tax researchand helps train staff to do the same; schedules annual tax research trainingsession for all tax staff
·Develops a generalunderstanding of firm philosophy
·Informs clients (orstaff member) of tax options available and possible outcomes through clear andconcise memos, emails or letters
·Seeks and communicatesefficiencies in producing quality work products
·Initiates new work forexisting clients
·Stays current on newlegislation and educates staff and clients
·Acts as a resource forinterns and staff
·Contributes to theclient service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround andattentive service
·Depending onexperience, one may supervises extension process to ensure accurate and timelypreparation.

·Manager level hirewould manage workloads and work products of other tax staff members; delegatestax work to staff
·Oversees tax, taxplanning and fixed asset software to ensure defaults are properly set;disseminates software enhancements to staff
·Acts as key clientcontact person for select engagements
·Contributes to theclient service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround andattentive service
Educationand Experience
Minimum of aBachelor of Science in Accounting w/150 credit hours and CPA eligibilityrequired. SeniorAccountants normally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an accountantworking within public accounting (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriateby the firm). Accountants who possessmore Supervisory experience and normally have a minimum of 5 years’ experienceworking within public accounting would be considered for the mid-upper end ofthe range.
