Day-to-day tasks include, but not limited to the following:

Essential Functions

• Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, other trades and fellow electrical engineers to design “for permit” and “for construction” electrical drawings and documents utilizing CAD or any other applicable tools.
• Create and manage project/design job folders.
• Develop accurate and precise designs complying with the contract scope of work, project specification, InPwr drafting standards, practices, policies and stop gate procedures.
• Work with engineers, senior designers, and field installation experts to develop installation details to meet project needs.
• Prepare as built drawings as per field red line markup drawing. Ensure to be reviewed and approved by responsible filed team member and project manager before issuing.
• Sufficient with industrial design software upgrade or new potential design tools which will improve design and construction. Specifically, AUTOCAD 2018 or newer, REVIT 2017 or newer.
• Assist BIM implementation and coordination with the project team.
• Responsible for helping to maintain plotter and plotting processes.

Model Creation and Management:

• Develop and maintain BIM models for specific projects.
• Work closely with design teams to understand project requirements and create detailed 3D models.
• Ensure models are updated and revised as per project changes.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to integrate various aspects of the building design into the BIM model.
• Attend team meetings to discuss project progress and model coordination.
• Quality Assurance and Standards Compliance:
• Ensure that BIM models comply with industry and company standards.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on models to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Data Management and Documentation:
• Manage and store BIM files and related documentation.
• Generate reports and extracts from the BIM model as required.

Training and Support:

• Provide BIM software training to team members as needed.
• Support project teams in understanding and utilizing BIM models effectively.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and meet the requirements below.

• Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafting Technologies Degree
  • Or IEC apprenticeship program student who is proficient in AutoCAD and is interested in working in Electrical design field.
  • Or individual with any engineering bachelor's degree who is proficient in AutoCAD and is interested in working at Electrical design field.
• Construction trade experience in CAD Electrical design or electrical construction field.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.5 years of experience in BIM modeling in a construction or design environment.
• Ability to work in an office environment.
• Additional Skills (Optional):Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
• Experience with project management software.
• Occasionally visit construction sites for model verification and coordination.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to be a team player, yet work independently, be a good communicator and have problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.

Working/ Environment/ Physical Demandsto successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
