Inova is Hiring a Full Time-Registered Nurse (RN) Women's Medicine Unit (Nights) Near Falls, VA

We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Registered Nurse for our Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus! This is a full-time, night shift position.

Schedule: full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am

Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

Our 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia. On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit. Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.

Patients on this unit include:

General medicine 
Sickle Cell patients
End of life
Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
Laparoscopic surgery
Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit

Serves as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment, and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality, through relationships and access-based knowledge. Utilizes standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery. Determines process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration.
Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice. Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.

Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.

General Requirements:

Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
Values team collaboration
Proficient computer skills required

Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensur Compact (eNLC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
