Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation:
- Architect, deploy, and manage virtualization solutions based on VMware technologies
- Develop and implement virtualization strategies to optimize system performance and resource utilization
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate virtualized environments with existing systems
- Maintenance and Support:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to virtualization infrastructure
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, updates, and patches to ensure system stability
- Provide on-call support for critical incidents and participate in a rotation schedule
- Security Compliance:
- Ensure virtualization infrastructure meets and maintains Top Secret Clearance standards
- Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments
- Work closely with security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to virtualization architecture, configurations, and procedures
- Train and mentor team members on virtualization best practices
- Top Secret Clearance or higher is mandatory
- Proven experience as a Virtualization Engineer, with a focus on VMware technologies
- Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts, including server and desktop virtualization
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Experience with storage and networking technologies in virtualized environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
- Experience with other virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, KVM)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
