Logistics Manager

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager in Lyndhurst, VA. In this role, you will lead all aspects of the shipping & receiving department. As a Material Manager, you will collaborate closely with various departments to coordinate resources, train and develop current and new employees, and manage logistical needs. This role is critical to the growth of our company, and the future development of our shipping & receiving department.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

Job Role: As a Materials Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient coordination of inbound and outbound shipments of tools, materials, and jobsite supplies. You will oversee inventory and salvage operations, drive continuous improvements in shipping and receiving processes, and collaborate closely with project management and the Yard Manager to optimize material flow and availability. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a dynamic construction/manufacturing environment.

Key Duties:

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of tools, materials, and jobsite supplies in alignment with project management requirements
• Oversee inventory/salvage operations and project materials specialists to ensure optimized prioritization and availability of materials
• Drive continuous improvements within shipping/receiving processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Investigate and conduct root cause analysis on missing materials in inventory or project racking, implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Collaborate with the Yard Manager to manage inventoried materials in the yard effectively
• Assist with other duties assigned by shop management to support overall operational objectives

Requirements:

• Excellent relationship building skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and tight timelines
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5-10 years of Management experience in construction or manufacturing environments
• Experience using Inventory Management Systems
• Knowledge of basic measurements and ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Strong mechanical ability, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent work ethic with a commitment to achieving results
• Willingness to work some Saturday shifts and be open to overtime as required
• Comfort working in varying shop conditions, including extreme temperatures, and ability to wear all required safety PPE
• This position is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment and regular drug testing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to be a team player while working independently
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle check

Preferences:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
