Inland Imaging is Hiring an Interventional Care Specialist Near Spokane, WA

The Supplemental Interventional Care Specialist will fill in for vacation and sick calls at our Holy Family Outpatient Based Imaging Center location.

Summary: Coordinates, authorizes, and schedules patient appointments and interventional procedures in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Assists physicians with all back-office duties. Interacts with the providers, other departments within Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, patients and their family members and outside contacts.

The Interventional Care Specialist must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. Organizational skills are essential. Interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and outside contacts. Excellent written, verbal, and personal communication skills; be tactful and diplomatic; and maintain a high level of confidentiality is required. Makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
  • Ability to handle high call volume while maintaining efficiency and accuracy when scheduling exams.
  • Greet and welcomes patients and visitors.
  • Update patient demographics and current insurance information into current E.H.R.
  • Knowledge of when to order Labs for procedures.
  • Knowledge of all IR procedures and what is required to schedule, to include equipment and staff needed, and patient preparation for exam.
  • Coordinate interventional radiology procedures, surgery, and therapy, between patient’s, technologist, radiologist, nursing, anesthesia, outside departments, care facilities, language translation, and other vendors as needed.
  • Communicate pertinent procedure preparation to patients at time of scheduling.
  • Identity’s incoming procedure orders and evaluate next steps, route to appropriate department or internal filter as indicated.
  • Prepare exams for Radiologist review and protocol.
  • Create and prepare daily internal schedule of procedures and therapy’s for physicians, technologist, pathologist, nursing, and anesthesia. Disseminate schedule to all departments as indicated.
  • Ability to use multiple resources and or application to obtain necessary information for scheduled exams.
  • Ensures Provider has all paperwork needed for each procedure, including previous reports, history and physicals, lab results, and referral slips.
  • Reviews next days assigned schedule to maximize equipment utilization by time, location, modality and Radiologist.
  • Ensures prompt processing for Hospital inpatient exams performed in the IR department. To include coordination with nursing, physicians, technologist, anesthesiologists, and any other internal or external vendors or staff necessary for procedure completion.
  • This position is required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Maintains electronic files for patient tracking, to include but not limited to excel, word, and sharepoint.
  • Verifies patient has insurance coverage and referral in place if needed for office visits/procedures.
  • Interacts with billing department regarding billed procedures/codes/authorizations.
  • Guides callers from outside offices and facilities on protocols for initiating interventional procedures.
  • Processes inner office mail and emails regarding special cases, stat cases and follow-ups.
  • Schedules patient consultations and follow-up exams including diagnostic tests.
  • Interacts with Radiologists, nursing staff and other staff members to assure prompt quality patient care.
  • Other projects and duties and tasks as assigned

  • Ability to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages.

  • Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department.
  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
  • Attendance is required for this position.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Experience: Three years of medical office experience is required
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, ability to multi task and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of IR procedures and exams is preferred
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 Codes is preferred
  • Key-board and computer skills
  • Anatomy and medical terminology is preferred
  • Understanding of all procedures to be read by a Radiologist is preferred
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office suite; Workday; Imagecast;Intellispace Medicalis Internet/Intranet, Mediformatix,
  • Background Check
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Job Type: Part-time
