INIT Innovations in Transportation, Inc. (INIT) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer - Finance. The Software Developer participates in the entire development process including collaboration with clients, designing, coding, testing and delivering a successful solution. This position is based in Chesapeake, Virginia with technical direction from our Software Development teams in Seattle, Washington and Germany.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop high-quality and innovative financial software in accordance with legal, statutory, and technical regulations from the specification stage through delivery in the public transport sector.
• Collaborate and provide technical guidance for the Finance team along every state of the software development life cycle.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing finance software.
• Prepare finance design documentation. This includes writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe program development, logic, use cases, coding, and testing methodologies.
• Assist in the preparation of test plans, test scripts, and training material.
• Train customers and/or colleagues.
• Maintain knowledge of INIT’s products and related strategies.
• Support other departments in case of problems and bottlenecks (Project Management, Sales Management, other technical departments).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel to Germany required.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or Data Science.
• Very strong C#.NET, T-SQL, Oracle, JavaScript, SOAP and restful API skills.
• 5 years of full stack software development experience.
• 3 years of experience designing enterprise class solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, service-oriented architecture, and solution frameworks.
• 2 years of experience coding in financial services industry, accounting systems or strong knowledge of accounting principals and concepts.
• Competent in critical thinking, problem solving, planning, organizing, decision making, communication, teamwork, and conflict management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Work Location: This position will require working a minimum of 3 days a week at our North American corporate headquarters located in Chesapeake, Virginia.
