Quality Technician Job Description

Location: Southern Pines, NC, 28387

1st shift Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm Mon - Fri, Overtime & Weekends as needed.

Pay Starts at $ 19.53/hr.

Job Summary

Facilitate and lead activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of production, metrology and customer claims by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Quality Technician include but not limited to the following job duties.

Develop and initiate standards and methods for examination, inspection, measurement and testing of material used to manufacture product.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quality Engineer function by collecting and distributing data relevant to specified projects. Support additional responsibilities as required.

• Assure that material meets engineering specification and customer requirements.

• Provide tactical quality support to operations by Investigating, Troubleshooting and Reporting on Internal (supplier and assembly issues) and External (customer complaints).

• Familiar with Blueprint reading and understands basic GD&T.

• Maintain records, certifications and documentation for completed inspections.

• Participate and/or lead problem solving events under the direction of a Quality Engineer.

• Disposition material and coordinate with purchasing on supplied material. Provide tactical quality support to operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Basic understanding of assembly methods.

• Must be comfortable utilizing conventional measuring equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, microscopes and other types of inspection devices.

• Basic understanding of blueprints and other documents that define product specification.

• General knowledge of ISO procedures. Basic understanding of root cause analysis (5W1H, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).

• Possess basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Key Competencies

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associates degree in manufacturing technology (preferred). OR

• quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (prefer machining and assembly background).
