Behavioral Health Clinician - HIV Clinician Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direct services including psychosocial assessments, counseling, education, advocacy and individual and group therapy services to patients living with HIV/AIDS and their significant others. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Conducts and documents psychosocial diagnostic assessments for all referred clients. 2. Provides Individual and Group Treatment in non-traditional venues and methods including home visits and family and support network services. 3. Creates treatment plans. 4. Refers patients to substance abuse treatment and psychiatric care. 5. Provides intervention and referral for patients experiencing suicidal/homicidal ideation. 6. Makes referrals internally and within the community and provides follow up. 7. Participates in community and agency outreach activities that identify, recruit, and/or educate the client population. 8. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. 9. Works within a multidisciplinary team and coordinates with other HIV services. 10. Attends all required and pertinent meetings. 11. Maintains patient documentation in a professional and timely manner.
QUALITY ASSURANCE Participates in HIV and social service performance improvement projects. Participates in setting and maintaining quality goals for social work and HIV within the health center. Participates in devising, reviewing and revising policies, procedures and protocols. . QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters Degree in Social Work. LCSW is required; LICSW is preferred. LADC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor) preferred. Bilingual preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: A busy community health center located in a downtown business district. Occasional long hours maybe required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical demands requiring lifting of small pieces of equipment and/or boxes not to exceed 20 pounds. Mostly sedentary and interoffice walking required. Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading. Hearing acuity sufficient for holding conversations with or without audio devices.
