Job Description: Lab Technician
Location: Danville, IL, 61832
Job Summary:Preferred Laboratory Services is a clinical reference laboratory offering a range of specialty tests to clients. We are looking for an energetic, intelligent lab technician to work with other team members to produce fast and accurate results. Our laboratory is constantly developing and adding different methodologies to keep up with our growing client base. We want a great attitude and work ethic to show up every day and thrive in our fun, fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform Daily Multiplex PCR and OpenArray PCR sample processing while meeting performance and deadline expectations. Accession, aliquot specimens, extract RNA/DNA, perform RT-PCR and PGX testing
  • Specimen collection kit production
  • Document all QA/QC performed with lot-to-lot comparisons of all reagents, controls, and calibrators
  • Maintain all lab reagents according to manufacturer’s requirements
  • Maintain proper continuing education and competency requirements
  • Compliance with accrediting bodies (i.e., CLIA, COLA, CAP)
  • Perform and document maintenance on all instruments
  • Inventory management tracking
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Requirements:
  • Doctoral, Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate's degree in laboratory science. OR:
  • Have education equivalent to an Associate’s degree AND graduated from a clinical laboratory training program **AND**
  • Have 3 months experience in each specialty of high complexity testing performed.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 12am-8:30am
