Salary Range: $60,000 - $150,000 Base Salary Bonus

To keep up with that demand we are hiring a talented Controls Engineer with a strong skill set of designing, developing, and deploying PLC and HMI code.

The ideal candidate has a passion for developing automation solutions tailored to the customer’s needs, while striving to become more knowledgeable on industry practices and standards. A detailed and driven engineer capable of outside the box thinking with a collaborative approach to solving complex projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy PLC and HMI code – written in a clear, consistent, and tested format so it can be easily understood both internally and externally
• Develop controls system documentation (i.e. IO list, device list, scope of work, conduit schedules, routing tables, FAT and SAT plans)
• Design electrical control panels meeting UL508A Certification
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing ensuring bug-free solutions
• Perform Site Acceptance Testing with end user ensuring smooth and comfortable hand off
• Perform Peer Design Reviews for SCADA specific application
• Manage and communicate your individual schedule to customers (internal and external)
• Lead on a project. No delegation, only communication to PM
• Participate in training to improve any necessary skills
• Train/mentor engineers to help develop the engineers and our company

Desired Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field or 2 years of directly relevant professional experience
• Minimum of 2 years controls programming experience; Suite of Rockwell, Siemens, GE
• Must be able to do the following:
  • Write PLC code in a clear, consistent, and tested format so it can be easily understood both internally and externally
  • Analyze and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions for any control system challenges to project manager and/or end user
• Experience with basic networking of computers and devices such as routers, switches, hubs, and bridges
• Experience as a technical lead on projects with high degree of interaction and communication with the end user; including C-Suite, Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.

Working Conditions:

Automation Group takes pride in offering a flexible work environment. This position will mainly report to client sites, with ability to work remotely when permitted.

Attendance Requirements:

Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm (flexible /- 1 hour). Evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
