*Habilitation Aide services*

The Direct Care Professional supports individuals with intellectual disabilities with everyday life skills including functional, social, and daily living tasks. Each individual has a unique support plan, which addresses their various needs. The Direct Care Professional will provide guidance and support in helping participants to gain independence and acheive their personal goals.

Scope of Duties:

• Demonstrate knowledge and professionalism while interacting with clients at home and in the community.
• Offer guidance and support to program participants while respecting their individual right to make their own choices.
• Assist with daily living tasks and provide medical support as needed.
• Provide assistants to participants to develop important life skills while ensuring their enjoyment in the program.
• Document individual progress daily, and ensure forms complete and accurate.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and follow directives accurately.
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Must complete 24 hours of ODP training annually.

Job Requirements:

• Previous ODP experience or working with intellectually disabled individuals is preferred but not required.
• A driver’s license, valid vehicle insurance, a personal vehicle and positive driving record are required for this position.
• The employee must possess a strong ability to make immediate decisions when faced with difficult situations.
• Must successfully pass Federal, State, and Child Abuse background checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Education:

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• LPN or RN (Required)
