Company DescriptionOur client identifies, evaluates, and acquires U.S.-based cannabis operations within each state to vertically integrate, produce, and distribute medical-grade cannabis formulations in the United States offering patients and customers premium, high-grade cannabis and related products.Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant will support finance, accounting and payroll, handle and prioritize multiple projects in an ever-changing environment. This role will perform month-end close activities, analyze and verify financial information, prepare internal financial reports, provide information to the field, reconcile, and review GL accounts. External contacts will include vendors, banks, internal and external auditors.Prepare accounting entries and account reconciliations for all payroll related transactionsCollaborate closely with the payroll team to gain a complete understanding of the general ledger impact of all payroll related transactionsEnsure all payroll cash activity is captured and reconciled timely.Prepare accounting entries and account reconciliations various other financial statement areas (including but not limited to leases, debt, intercompany transactions)Research and investigate financial variances for monthly fluctuation analysisAssit or prepare schedules to support regulatory, statutory, or management reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reportingPrepare corporate accounting schedules required as support for quarterly and annual filingsAssist with quarterly and annual audit preparation for external auditorsIdentify opportunities to automate general ledger impacting activitiesEnsure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlinesPerform other duties and projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree (CPA or Master’s Degree preferred)Payroll/Compensation accounting experience preferredKnowledge of US GAAP (IFRS knowledge a plus)5 years of demonstrated general ledger accounting experienceExperience working with various systems (Sage Intacct & Blackline a plus)Advanced in Microsoft ExcelProactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet pressing deadlinesTeam player with a strong work ethicExcellent conceptual, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
