JOB SUMMARY: The Research Associate II is responsible for the testing of materials targeted towards product development as directed by the supervisor in a manner that is consistent with proper testing and laboratory procedures. The Research Associate II is also responsible for managing and maintaining equipment and consumable lab supplies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
• Utilize chemistry, metallurgy, and relevant knowledge in a laboratory environment as directed by the supervisor.
• Devise and manufacture minor modifications of materials for upgraded performance under the direction of the supervisor.
• Perform testing of material properties and behavior (including mechanical, electrical, thermal, etc.) following well-established standards and procedures.
• Follow electronic industry practices including applications for soldering, sintering, surface mount technology, semiconductor packaging, thermal interface interconnections, etc.
• Complete data collection, processing, and interpretation of material testing and performance.
• Manage and maintain equipment and consumable lab supplies for routinely used items.
• Document details and procedures for testing of materials, processes, assemblies, and instrumentation.
• Assist the supervisor in developing and delivering manufacturing processes for materials.
• Optimize processing conditions and parameters to enhance material performance.
• Follow laboratory compliance and site-specific environmental protection requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (chemistry, metallurgy, material science, or
engineering); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with a focus on data processing.
• Experience in safety, quality assurance, and best engineering and laboratory practices.
• “Hands on” machine operation and test experience.
• Demonstrated ability to complete a wide-variety of assignments in a manufacturing lab
environment.
• Ability to read and understand product design and fabrication documentation.
• Ability to document design changes for specifications per standards.

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.
