Reports To: IHC Counseling Director, &/or Counseling Prevention Service Program Manager
Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt (18 month assignment)
Position Summary: The Social Marketing Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to develop a strong social marketing educational outreach campaign to educate the community on prevention services and issue’s effecting the American Indian community. This will be accomplished by creating educational material and disseminate via flyers, posters, video, emails, and social media including IHC webpage, Facebook, Instagram, and community events. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing day-to-day operation including obtaining input from the community, youth, and families. This position will help build an integrated model to educate the community on signs of early onset of psychosis, substance use, and suicide prevention
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the project
- Create suicide prevention outreach material educating the community on suicide prevention, statistics and data
- Develop communications and marketing strategies that appeal to American Indians and other communities served
- Create and manage program social media, digital ad, and outreach campaigns
- Create effective outreach material, including flyers, video promotions, and digital stories
- Maintain department/program content on agency website
- Ability to perform copy edits, proofreading, and revise communications, as applicable
- Create, train and guide staff in short video production, photography and external communications, as applicable
- Work with team and participate in and/or attend community events such as health fairs, pow-wows and community forums, to disseminate information
- Develop department literature and brochures on program services, data collection, resource guide, particularly housing, education, legal, as well as other social and medical services as applicable
- Coordinate youth focus groups on effective material that appeals to youth
- Identify and develop social media policy and procedures
- Responsible for monthly progress reports
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree preferred or 3 years of social marketing experience would be accepted
- Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish preferred
- Experience working with American Indian/Alaskan Natives and other diverse populations
- Possession of good organizational, project management and leadership skills
- Able to take on tasks independently and with a team
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple administrative functions simultaneously in an accurate, organized, and efficient manner
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Communicate effectively at all levels; written and spoken
- Good public speaking skills with individuals and to large groups
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel
- Possession of a valid California Driver License and automobile insurance
