Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and capable ­­People Operations Generalist to work with our team members during the entire employment lifecycle, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, record maintenance, compliance, performance reviews, and off boarding.

As this role is an essential part of our team, active communication and respectful collaboration with peers is vital to success. 

Job Duties

  1. Employee Maintenance 
    • Manage employee electronic personnel filing system; ensuring proper collection, completion and storage
    • Data entry/maintenance of HRIS for all GCBS employees. Enter all new hires, process job and salary changes, and update terminated employees.
  1. Compliance 
    • Annual EEO-1 Filing
    • Prepare and submit annual ACA 1095C reporting for health plan
    • Track, prepare, mail required regulatory notices, SARs for health, disability, pension, CHPRA, Women’s health rights, Medicare Part D Creditable and Non-creditable coverage
    • File annual Medicare Part D Disclosure to CMS
    • Monitor unemployment claims and dispute as needed
    • Administer leave management for all team members
      • Manage all needed FMLA paperwork, proactively track leave time and keep respective manager apprised of FMLA status
      • File and follow disability claims as needed
  1. Compensation and Benefits 
    • Represent and be able to explain GCBS benefits, navigate employee concerns and address general inquiries
    • Communicate regularly with Payroll regarding changes to position information, benefits, direct deposit, tax withholdings
  1. Employee Relations 
    • Maintain employee handbook, address team members’ questions about policies
    • Maintain and monitor employee performance review schedule, notifying managers of upcoming reviews; calculate and input corresponding merit increase; ensure performance reviews are documented/stored in files
    • Assist in coordinating GCBS’ employee engagement events
    • Administer employee referral program and employee anniversary program

Educational and Experience Required

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

Preferred Experience:

  1. 2-4 years of Human Resource Administration experience.
  2. FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ACA, EEOC, DOL, OSHA and ERISA regulatory requirements
  3. HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and Microsoft Office suite
  4. Attention to detail with ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality

Physical Demands

  1. Able to sit for an extended period of time in focused work.
  2. Long periods of telephone and computer work.
