The Division of Operative Dentistry in the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) on the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) campus is currently recruiting for a program director in graduate cariology and operative dentistry. The appointment will be a full-time (0.8 or 1.0 FTE) faculty position at the rank of associate or full professor for IUSD. The qualified candidate should have a strong clinical background and extensive experience teaching and conducting research in cariology and operative dentistry.The graduate program director (GPD) is responsible for managing all aspects of the graduate program, advising students on academic matters, and monitoring student performance and progress. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to management of the program curriculum ensuring content remains relevant and up to date; coordination of faculty for clinic sessions, didactic courses, and student research; overseeing student admissions; monitoring student progress to ensure timely completion of degrees; mentoring student research projects; resolving problems; and fostering a social climate conducive to camaraderie and learning. The GPD is the primary educator for didactic courses and the chief mentor for graduate clinic activities.
