Our dynamic manufacturing team in Longview, TX is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Machine Operator. This position is responsible for performing machine set-up for orders, safely operating machines to production target, waste, and quality standards, and trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard.

Responsibilities:

• Sets-up machine to specifications outlined on the order
• Operates machine to standard production target and waste target
• Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard
• Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
• Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
• Performs inspections and cleans machine and area according to schedule
• Completes all required tracking forms (Job Plan, Shift Run Report, Quality Sheet, and checklists)
• Ensures materials are available for next order & next shift
• Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; Follows established safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
• Initiates and supports improvement initiatives
• Other duties as instructed by Supervisor, Lead, Production /or Plant Manager
• Complete verification and validation activities in IPL’s Food Safety Plan as determined by the Food Safety Management System and adhere to the program

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months industry experience or equivalent experience in similar industry
• Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently

Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements:

• Must wear all required personal protection equipment associated with specific manufacturing work environment and job duties 
• Maintain clean and safe working environment and follow all safety policies and procedures, such as lock out/tag out, safe lifting techniques, and all others as instructed
• Inform Management of any food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements
