POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shrink Wrap – Hand Finishing Operator is responsible for operating Fin Sealing and Shrink wrapping equipment. This role also supports finishing and kitting of products in the Hand finishing department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organize and prep equipment, materials and product needed for wrapping.
• Understand how to properly and efficiently run wrapping equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure product is running properly and efficiently.
• Work with machine maintenance department on non-standard maintenance or repair issues.
• Monitor and assure quality throughout the entire run.
• Organize pack or box products as necessary.
• Prepare packages for shipping as required by UPS and as job ticket instructs.
• Guide and direct team members who assist on wrap lines.
• Understand and accurately follow job ticket information and spread sheets to determine quantity, special work instructions, and all customer requirements.
• Maintain high efficiency according to established rates of hand duties and machine operation.
• Interact with company staff regarding the status of jobs and in problem-solving scenarios.
• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
• Understand area communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
• Operate electrical jack when more than one person moves a pallet due to weight limits.
• Operate regular hand pallet jack to move product as needed.
• Take an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned work area and equipment.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned in Hand Finishing and/or other functional areas.
• Communicates with Supervisor when temporary employees are needed.
• Ability to float to all areas within Wrapping and Hand Finishing.
• Ability to operate all equipment within Wrapping and Hand Finishing.

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Learn new equipment, processes and procedures quickly and pass on this knowledge to others.
• Must be able to function in a team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions.

SCHEDULE:

Full-time, Hourly, Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 3:00pm; Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm; must be able to adjust hours to meet delivery demands

STARTING WAGE:

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
