POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hand Finishing Assistant is responsible for performing the finishing items on jobs that come into their area to get them ready to go to the customer and make sure it is up to the customer’s standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and all customer requirements.
• Accurately follow all instructions on the job ticket.
• Maintain high efficiency according to established rates of hand duties and machine operation.
• Interact with company staff regarding the status of jobs and in problem-solving scenarios.
• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
• Understand area communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
• Insert product into envelopes as job ticket instructs.
• Hand fold and/or glue printed products as job ticket instructs.
• Sort envelopes or printed pieces as job ticket instructs.
• Collate sheets and marry previously collated sections as job ticket instructs.
• Monitor and assure quality throughout the entire run.
• Operate small machinery such as drills, riveters, stitchers, and shrink-wrappers.
• Box products as necessary.
• Prepare packages for shipping as required by UPS and as job ticket instructs.
• Operate electrical jack when more than one person moves a pallet due to weight limits.
• Operate regular hand pallet jack to move product as needed.
• Take an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned work area.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned in Hand Finishing and/or other functional areas.
• Communicates with Supervisor when temporary employees are needed.
• Manages workstations scheduled on specific jobs.
• Ability to float to all areas within Hand Finishing
• Knowledgeable of all schedules within Hand Finishing
• Ability to operate all equipment within Hand Finishing

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Learn new equipment, processes and procedures quickly and pass on this knowledge to others.
• Must be able to function in a team environment under high stress, tight deadlines and interruptions.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented

SCHEDULE:

Full-time, Hourly, Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 3:00pm Friday 6:00 am – 2:00 pm

STARTING WAGE:

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
