Summary Description:

The Data team at InDebted focuses on developing machine learning models, AI solutions, BI solutions and data transformation processes to accelerate our disruption of the traditional debt collection industry.

By utilising the rich datasets we have accumulated from communicating with our customers via digital-first channels and other innovations, we are able to efficiently deliver significantly better collections performance results compared to our peers.

The first remit of this role is to be laser-focused on monitoring collections performance and partnering with various stakeholders to develop the roadmap for improving collections performance across all verticals. The second remit of this role is to be the leader of 20 team members within the analytics discipline. You will be leading and managing a talented group of insights analysts, data analysts, analytics engineers and technical project managers who will be executing on delivering their objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has already excelled at managing an analytics team, data science team or actuarial science team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor platform collections performance and develop hypotheses for trends in collections performance
• Recommend improvements for collections performance uplift across various verticals
• Leverage your expertise and experience in the debt collections industry to provide strategic direction and develop the roadmap for improving platform collections performance
• Lead, manage and inspire the team members in the insights team, data analytics team, analytics engineering teams as well as technical project managers
• Mentor and coach your direct reports, who are managers of their respective teams
• Oversee all projects being performed by team members operating within the analytics discipline as prescribed and be accountable for the successful delivery of their projects
• Build credible partnerships with members of the leadership teams at InDebted
• Collaborate closely with the product development team and the data science team to further improve platform collections performance
• Be part of the senior leadership team and contribute to the progression of initiatives owned by the senior management team at InDebted - a team who works closely with the executive leadership team on executing on the company’s objectives

• Experience working in the debt collections industry and an understanding of collections operations with an analytical lens
• Experience building and managing a high performing team of analytics professionals, data scientists, actuaries or similar
• Curious by nature, strong ability to think critically and analytically, excellent attention to detail and strong stakeholder management skills
• Strong multi-tasking ability to manage the large number of ongoing deliverables being worked on concurrently
• Self-starter and self-motivated - you will be given a set of goals and it’s up to you to derive a personal plan to execute on those goals
• Experience writing SQL queries (in any variation of SQL)
• Ability to influence key decisions made in the organisation that will affect the delivery of a performant collections product and operation
• Familiarity with data structures, modern databasing technologies, visualisation tools, development tools and cloud service provider solution
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and high growth environment
• Ability to work remotely: Demonstrate the capability to work effectively in a remote setting and ensure a dedicated and professional workspace conducive to productivity
