Compensation:$80,000-$100,000

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor

Inceed has partnered with a global leader in the oil and gas industry on a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor role. 
This individual will work heavily with scientist in the research center to promote innovation, safety, and sustainable practices.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with scientists, researchers, and laboratory personnel to establish and promote a culture of safety excellence within the labs.
  • Conduct regular process and safety previews to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate safety measures.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent future incidents.
  • Perform surprise inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and company standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve laboratory safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver safety training, workshops, and seminars to enhance awareness and knowledge of lab safety best practices.
  • Provide expert advice on risk assessment, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, industry standards, and emerging trends in lab safety and hazardous materials handling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with high-pressure equipment, hazardous gases, and chemicals.
  • Compile and analyze safety data, metrics, and reports to measure and improve safety performance.
  • Support the acquisition and maintenance of necessary safety certifications and permits.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven hands-on experience working in laboratory settings, ideally in the context of reservoir engineering projects, drilling operations, around high pressure equipment and hazardous gases and chemicals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of laboratory safety protocols, practices, and regulations.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with scientists, researchers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, conduct thorough investigations, and implement practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and safety management software/tools.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
