Inberg Miller Engineers is Hiring a Professional land surveyor Near Greeley, CO

Inberg-Miller Engineers (IME) is looking for a full-time Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). Primary duties include directing, marketing, managing, and supervising the daily tasks and immediate affairs of surveying services for various companywide projects.

The position will require experience with setting survey monuments and construction stakes, recovering survey monuments, recording field notes, measuring distances, understanding and following maps, reading construction plans, operating surveying instruments including RTK GPS and robotic total stations (Trimble), performing surveying calculations, and computer-aided drafting.

Projects are typically assigned near your home office’s area of responsibility; however, some travel through the Rocky Mountain Region is likely.

Duties include boundary surveys, route surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, control surveys, mapping, marketing our services, preparing proposals, and project management.

TYPICAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION :

  • Must be able to follow instructions, and work independently, or as part of a project team.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely, logical manner and exercise discretion and good judgment in accomplishing assigned tasks and goals.
  • Must have organizational, communication, interpersonal, and intellectual skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks to completion.
  • Ability to market our services and increase market share.
  • Ability to become proficient with computer programs associated with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, nights, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
  • Willingness to work more than 45 hours per work week as the job schedule dictates.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technically written material.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with clients, fellow employees, and anyone with whom you come in contact at any time during working hours.
  • Ability to follow IME’s computer, cell phone, and social media policies at all times while employed with IME.

EXPERIENCE :

  • 3-5 years of surveying experience required.
  • GIS and laser scanning are desirable but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in the Surveying field and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
