Inalfa Roof Systems is Hiring a Labview Engineer II Near Auburn, MI

SUMMARY

Develops improved or new designs for automotive sunroof modules and roof systems or modifies existing equipment on production vehicles, and directs building, modification, and testing of products. Ensures that the equipment design(s) meets all applicable (Customer, National, International, and Inalfa Roof Systems) specifications and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design, Develop and maintain end of line automated test stations on the assembly lines
  • Attend design reviews with equipment suppliers and explain in detail the scope of work, specification, and BOM for the automated test stations
  • Design, Develop and maintain test applications in the lab
  • Design, Develop and maintain diagnostic tools
  • Design, Develop and maintain NVH applications
  • Provide operational & diagnostic instructions to Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Work with manufacturing engineering on DFM/DFA analysis
  • Work with Electrical Engineering team for implementing specific requirements of motor and controller testing on assembly lines and in the test lab
  • Support manufacturing and quality with plant build issues and root cause analysis
  • Support other people in the organization by providing; required end of line data, interpreting the data, and reporting tools for assembly lines
  • Support cost reduction activities as appropriate
  • Support Purchasing and SQA with technical input relative to supply base issues
  • Support customer plant liaisons with technical input relative to customer assembly plant issues
  • Support all Kaizen/Lean activities as appropriate
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain open items list and requests list
  • Prioritize work requests and update internal customers with project status in a timely manner
  • Document processes and train necessary people with software tools
  • Follow (current standards), develop (future standards) and implement software, hardware and process standards as a method to continuously move forward with global support
  • Support automation projects globally as needed either with remote login or in person
  • Participate in Global projects from US and conduct meetings
  • Develop, coach and mentor other LabVIEW developers in the group

Adhere to all IATF16949 procedures as related to the Engineering Department functions. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least three to four years of full time LabVIEW and National Instruments (NI) hardware experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Electrical product design experience
    • Automotive electrical design responsibilities

  • Experience with DC motors for automotive applications such as seat, window and sunroof
  • Experience with communication protocols such as Serial, LIN, CAN, etc.
  • Experience working with NI TestStand, VeriStand or HIL
  • Experience using Microsoft office tools
