Improvix Technologies Career Center is Hiring an Asset Management Specialist Near Washington, DC

Summary Description

We are looking for energetic, self-starting, detail-oriented team members to support our customer at the US Department of State. We have available positions for Asset Management Specialists, especially those with experience in supporting federal clients. These individuals will be responsible for inventory, tracking, management, maintenance, documentation, and administration of all IT equipment in inventory.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a position similar in scope to Asset Management, Inventory, Tier I/II-type hardware support (installations, tracking, troubleshooting).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Experience supporting VIP-type customers and working in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint, MS Teams, and inventory data entry.
  • Experience with ILMS is not mandatory, but highly desired.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work and relate with technical resources.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of Change Management processes and controls.
  • Experience configuring and installing network printers, local printers, workstations, thin/fat clients, and laptops for use on various classifications of networks.
  • Experience with prepping and disseminating iPads, scanners, mobile printers, devices, and mobile hotspots.


Job Responsibilities

  • Interacting with and supporting executive-level government leadership; providing top-tier customer service.
  • Organizing the equipment, including all in-stock hardware, cables, and excess.
  • Assist with managing asset tickets in ServiceNow to include assignments, status updates, closing, etc. Responding to customer inquiries, answering phone calls, and performing high quality customer service.
  • Data entry:
    • Managing laptops in an internal database (the MRA Management System (MRAMS)); includes updating entries when devices are decommissioned.
    • Updating customer asset assignments for all devices (laptops, tablets, phones, MiFis).
    • Submitting order requests for purchasing new devices and peripherals (keyboards, cases, chargers, etc).
    • Updating inventory entries in the DOS system, ILMS.
  • Preparing new laptop devices for bulk imaging and deployment.
  • Troubleshooting devices after imaging to ensure imaging is correct and complete.
  • Troubleshooting and checking all devices prior to customer assignment to ensure there are no issues.
  • Making sure all iPad devices are updated to the latest approved IOS
  • Verifying that mobile devices, tablets, and MiFis have the correct AT&T phone plans (i.e., international coverage for customers that travel overseas).
  • Managing all customer printers – to include troubleshooting, performing weekly toner checks, retrieving toner, installing toner, connecting to the network, and mapping printers to customers’ workstations.
  • Completing full printer configurations for multiple network printers, which includes passwords, naming conventions, reserving IP addresses, submitting tickets to reserve an IP address, and entering STMP, Reply address, NEPA, POC contact, NTP and additional settings depending on printer
  • Supporting office moves – to include moving and re-installing equipment for customers.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and Workstations (i.e., adding/deleting workstations from AD, maintaining OU folders, confirming naming conventions match)
  • Imaging, naming and deploying standard and DIN workstations.
  • Researching hardware that can be used to make our environment more efficient.
  • Updating, imaging, installing, troubleshooting, etc., zero clients, thin/fat clients.
  • Maintaining all back-up workstations in the event that VDI crashes.
  • Making sure all excess equipment is properly removed and stored in the identified area (separate from customer equipment).
  • Supporting the annual inventory process, which involves data entry, transferring items, deposing Items, and bar code scanning.
