Job Overview:
Car is a MUST. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth running of the cooking class. If you have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
- YOU MUST HAVE A CAR FOR THIS POSITION AS YOU WILL NEED TO DRIVE TO AND FROM THE STORAGE AND VENUE
- Assist with food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the chef
- Going to the storage and getting all supplies necessary for the class
- Going to the venue and setting up for the class
- Cleaning up the venue after the class and insuring all the equipment has been returned to the storage in its proper place.
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the venue
- Help with meal assembly, portioning, and plating
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as directed by the chef
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Experience / requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Basic culinary skills are a plus
