The Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst (SPMBA) brings together and leads project teams focused on IT-relatedprojects,systemsimplementationsandstrategic projects improving and maturing how we use technology services to do the work of running the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience leading efforts to support an institution’s day to day operations and business processes using variousenterprisetechnologies,willhavehands-onexperienceworkingwithadministrativeapplicationsand supporting infrastructure, and will employ creative strategies to help clients understand, manage, and improve complex processes and systems. Reporting to the Senior Director for Project Management and Business Analysis - Enterprise Technology Services, the SPMBA will collaborate with business and technology teams as we seek to transform and mature the enterprise systems used by the Institution to support music education in an expanding portfolio of programs offered online and on our campuses in the United States and Europe.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with and skilled in managing strategic/complex technical projects as well asperformingdetailedanalysis.Theyareakeymemberofateamofhighlyengagedprofessionalscharged with helping to modernize, streamline, and standardize business processes and systems in a creative, entrepreneurial environment.

JobPurpose:

The Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst (SPMBA) functions as project manager on strategic projects andisresponsiblefortheoveralldirection,coordination,implementation,execution,controlandcompletion of projects ensuring consistency with the company’s strategy, commitments and goals.

TheSPMBAalsofunctionsasabusinessanalyst,servingasaliaisonbetweencompany’sclientandtechnical areas to assess and develop requirements for standard end-user, business, and service needs and procedures. The SPMBA plans and conducts preliminary studies of potential administrative applications or technology solutions and prepares project charters to reflect resources required to develop services that meetthe company needs.TheSPMBAalsoplaysaroleinperformingandfacilitatingqualityassurance,systems testing, and user acceptance activities.

The SPMBA provides leadership by participating in the ongoing refinement of internal best practices and developingclosepartnershipsinternallyandexternallytoensurethedeliveryofhighqualityservicesthat meet the needs of the company community. The SPMBA coaches colleagues across the organization in project management and business analysis techniques and works to mature the institution’s project management and business process improvement framework in a way that fits within the culture of the organization.

TheSPMBAaddsprojectmanagementandbusinessanalystexpertise,industryknowledge,andinformed opinion to strategic Enterprise Technology Services department discussions.

EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities:

1.Plan,coordinateandmonitorallprojectactivitiesensuringalldeliverablesmeetqualityandperformance objectives

2.Serveasaliaisonbetweenclientandtechnicalareastoassessanddevelopenduser,businessand

3.Maintainahighlevelofcommunicationwithinternalandexternalteams;providingclear,tactful,and complete directives, realistic deliverable deadlines and prompt feedback.

4.Workside-by-sidewithprojectanddepartmentalteammembersinahands-oncapacityinorderto ensure that all deliverables meet client expectations.

5.Performandfacilitatebusinessanalysis,qualityassurance,systemstesting,anduseracceptance activities

6.Participateintechnicaldesignsessions,ensuringthatthebusinessrequirementsandobjectivesare articulated and addressed by the designed solutions.

7.Coachcolleaguesacrosstheorganizationinprojectmanagementandbusinessanalysistechniques

8.Contributetotherefinementofinternalbestpracticestoensurethedeliveryofhighqualityservices that meet the needs of the community.

9.Otherdutiesasassigned.

RequiredExperience:

1.Bachelor’sdegreeandrelevantbusinessprocessanalysisand/orprojectmanagementtrainingand experience required.

2.12 years’experience(10 withadvanceddegree)effectivelymanagingcomplexprojectsand/or services in support of business functions.

3.ProjectManagementProfessional(PMP),CSM(CertifiedScrumMaster),orCBAP(CertifiedBusiness Analysis Professional) certification required

4.Soundprojectmanagementknowledge,skillsandabilitieswithavarietyofmethodologies(waterfall, lean,agile)andbusinessprocesstools(e.g.swimlanediagrams),andtheflexibilitytoapplythebest method to the needs of each project

5.Experienceinahighereducationenvironmentpreferredbutnot required

6.Experience with administrative business applications (e.g. ERP, CRM, LMS) and infrastructure required; Ellucianstudentinformationsystems(e.g.Colleague,PowerCampus),Workday/WorkdayStudentaplus

7.Exposuretoandunderstandingofsystemsandinfrastructure,includingidentityaccessmanagement (IAM) concepts and technologies (e.g. SSO, Active Directory, Universal ID, etc).

RequiredSkills:

1.Stronginterpersonalskillstounderstandthebroadrangeofneedsandvarioussupportrequirementsfor delivering exemplary customer service.

2.Abilitytocommunicateclearlyandeffectivelyinbothverbalandwrittenformatsaswellastocreateand maintain positive, productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel, both internal and external (e.g. vendor partners)

3.Abilitytooperateindependentlyandsetprioritiesamongstmultipletaskassignments.

4.Excellentjudgmentandstrategicskillsforensuringmutuallypositiveoutcomes,balancinginternal priorities with client objectives.

5.Equallycomfortablewithdetailedanalysisandresearchaswith'big-picture'considerationsand priorities.
