Position Title: Quality Inspector Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
$24 to $28 / hour FLSA Status: Exempt
Purpose
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of the Company’s products in part by inspecting products and materials from both external vendors and internal manufacturing processes to ensure they meet company requirements, specifications, and drawings and are free from all defects. The Quality Inspector will document and report all deficiencies for further review by Engineering and/or Production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·Reading blueprints and specifications to fully understand part, component, or sub-assembly requirements.
·Inspecting and/or testing incoming supplied components and materials from outside vendors and internal operations to ensure compliance with standards, blueprints, and specifications.
·Must demonstrate proficient use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, plug gauges, thread gauges, etc.
·Responsible for identifying, and isolating products that don’t meet standards.
·Writing and logging deficiency reports and discussing inspection results with Engineering and Production as appropriate.
·Required to file and record vendor-supplied documentation such as heat lots, serial numbers, etc. as required electronically into the Company MRP system.
·Must be able to interact with MRP systems to accept, reject, or return items.
·Receives commercial and fabricated components and assemblies from outside vendors.
·Verifies count, and that package and component labeling and identification is consistent with that on Purchase Orders.
·Participates with purchasing and service on in-house RMA process.
Education and Experience
·3 years’ experience in quality inspection.

·Proficient with inspection tools & gauges • Blueprint reading
Travel Required
Travel is not expected.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle documents, materials, objects, tools, and controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting requirements are up to 50 lbs.

Typical office and manufacturing environments; noise levels range from quiet to moderate depending upon activities and location.
