Packaging Designer

Role and Responsibilities:

• Daily Project Summaries: Summaries service as a repository of all change requests to the factory. Create and maintain daily summaries via email on all projects to record and communicate all program details to agents/factories. Details include timing, action, labeling, packaging, sample requests, packaging information, etc.
• Evaluate incoming samples for color, information, legal lines, product comparison.
• Work closely with the creative department to facilitate uploading packaging to the factory for development.
• Provide links to location of artwork and spec sheets to the creative department and overseas team.
• Review artwork for specs, legal information & correct labeling prior to sending. Send prototypes and/or packaging samples to the factory as necessary.
• Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure that labeling is kept up to date and in correct format.
• Work closely with the production department- ensure ship dates are met through production meetings.
• Review purchase orders and production forms for accuracy.
• Maintain the programs log: Showing programs in development with PO number, sample and ship dates, next steps etc. Update the programs log a minimum of once per week. Provide updated log to VP of Packaging noting any verbal updates necessary on day prior to the weekly production meeting.
• Organize and clearly label all samples in development.
• Manage and take responsibility for all deadlines and retailer requirements per project. Work closely and effectively with the VP of Packaging and Packaging Mangers to keep them well informed of sample dates, deadlines, following up appropriately when needed.
• Communicate with our overseas team after hours as necessary.
