Primary Purpose: Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, and plant facility
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs routine equipment inspections.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance.
• Responds quickly to equipment downtime by analyzing and identifying the problem.
• Performs complex non-routine and emergency repairs.
• Understands and follows all applicable safety policies, USDA requirements, GMPs, and industry standards.
• Keeps organized documentation of work tasks.
• Since this is a relatively specialized position and very few people can perform the tasks required for this position, regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this department.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Non-essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned to achieve the primary purpose or other purposes as determined by the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Advanced understanding of power tools, hand tools, and standard measurements.
• Speaks and understands English.
• Five years related experience in an industrial setting.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Advanced (journeyman level) experience in one of the following: electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, TIG welding, millwright.
Physical Demands: *
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to use vision or hearing help diagnose mechanical problems.
Work Environment: *
• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
• Regularly exposed to a noise level in the work environment that is loud.
