Job Title: Accounting Manager 

Job Description: Our CPA firm, a California-based husband and wife team with Big 4 experience, is seeking an Accounting Manager on a fully remote basis to join our full-service accounting firm. 

We have 40 small to medium sized clients we provide bookkeeping for across multiple verticals including crypto, interior design, online e-commerce , professional services and influencers to name a few. 

We also provide HR, tax, and consulting services along with helping over 100 tax season clients. 

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a bookkeeping team, ensuring the high quality of books, onboarding clients, and delivering projects in a timely manner. We value family, good client service, and work/life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an expert in QuickBooks Online, managing all aspects of bookkeeping using the platform.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
• Onboard clients to QuickBooks Online, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate setup.
• Be comfortable diving into details and tackling challenges to complete tasks effectively.
• Conduct client meetings and communicate confidently with clients.
• Coordinate with team members and clients to drive projects forward.
• Provide management support and mentorship to team members.
• Maintain a high level of organization and deliver progress reports to the team.
• Manage multiple client relationships simultaneously, providing exceptional service to each client.
• Collaborate closely with the tax team and CPA on client engagements.
• Handle books for various entities, such as S-Corps, partnerships, and multi-state businesses.
• Understand and implement bookkeeping practices for divisions and classes, tailoring them to specific client needs.
• Proficiently handle payroll, including integration with payroll platforms such as Gusto and understanding S-corp payroll tax treatment.
• Facilitate integrations with e-commerce platforms, such as Amazon, Shopify, Fishbowl and Expensify ensuring seamless integration with QuickBooks Online.
• Ability to review and improve existing bookkeeping processes and systems.
• Establish and implement best practices for company-wide chart of accounts and efficient bookkeeping processes.
• Possess a deep understanding of both accrual and cash basis accounting.
• Conduct quality reviews of others' work and implement systems to enhance productivity.

Required Experience

• Public accounting experience either as a senior leading audits or 3 plus years monthly financial preparation experience working with multiple clients. 
• QuickBooks Online experience preferred 
• Strong project management skills and experience overseeing a team.
• Ability to effectively onboard clients to QuickBooks Online and manage multiple client relationships.
• Experience with integrating various e-commerce platforms with QuickBooks Online 
• Previous collaboration with tax teams and CPAs.
• Ability to handle books for different types of entities, including S-Corps, partnerships, and multi-state businesses.
• Comfortable working with divisions and classes in QuickBooks Online to meet client-specific needs.
• Familiarity with payroll integration, mapping, and payroll-related tasks.
• Track record of creating and implementing efficient bookkeeping processes and systems.
• In-depth knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• Tech-savvy with experience in integrations and working with offshore teams.
