Reports to: Office Manager
Status: Part-time - 20-25 hrs a week - Early Morning position
FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Building Manager is to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment for all who come into our facilities. The external and internal appearance of the building reflects on the church in the community. S/he performs tasks with a keen eye for detail that keep the building in good shape and makes sure everything runs smoothly, from routine maintenance to ensuring supplies are properly stocked.

Essential Functions:

  • Clean and maintain church building, floors, furniture, and fixtures, including sanitizing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
  • Prepare site for daily operations through checking doors, monitoring systems (heating, cooling, lighting, etc.) sweeping and clearing walkways, and ensuring facilities are operational and hazard free.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on church mechanical systems, including heating and cooling
  • Report major damages and maintenance needs and oversee repairs
  • Service, clean, and restock restrooms.
  • Empty trash receptacles, bag for proper disposal, and carry trash to outside dumpsters.
  • Set up, arrange, and remove tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events.
  • Ensure exterior of facilities are clean and maintained.
  • Order supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Follow safe procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Custodial and building maintenance experience is desired.
  • Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge; understanding of heating/cooling/boiler systems
  • Ability to perform regular physical labor typical for custodial work
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to navigate stairs, ladders, ramps, and uneven terrain
  • Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
