Role Overview

This is a great opportunity to lead the pricing strategy and execution for Climate Control, supporting our journey to accelerate profitable gowth for the sector. The pricing manager will work in close collaboration with the sales team, offering and category managers to formulate and implement optimum pricing strategy across multiple product ranges, channels and geographies.

The Pricing Manager will have financial acumen, excellent analytic skills, market, and competitive analysis, as well as effective communication and influencing skill to drive successful pricing outcomes. 

The role is critical to the sector commercial success, to ensure we continue to provide outstanding value and a great experience to our customers whilst we simplify our pricing policies and the way we serve our customers more effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse market trends including competitor pricing, and market dynamics. Use this information to formulate effective pricing strategies.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of different pricing scenarios, considering factors like cost structures, profit margins, and revenue goals.
  • Determine optimal pricing for the company’s products and services. This involves balancing profitability, competitiveness, and customer value.
  • Segment the market based on customer needs, product features, and other relevant criteria to tailor pricing approaches.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure alignment on pricing strategies, providing guidance on pricing negotiations and deal structures.

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Acumen: excel in data-driven decision-making ability to analyse market trends, cost structures, and customer behaviour to inform pricing strategies. Proficiency in pricing models is essential.
  • Strategic Thinking: Long-term vision is crucial aligning pricing strategies with organisational goals, considering competitiveness, market share, and profitability. Adaptability is key.
  • Financial Acumen: Assessing profit margins, break-even points, and return on investment and understanding pricing elasticity helps optimise revenue.
  • Market Insight: Competitor analysis and customer segmentation identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, finance) and external partners (suppliers, distributors) ensuring alignment and successful pricing outcomes.
  • Proficient in the use of data analysis tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.)
