Currently, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee a new operation in Oswego, IL.

• As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of 10-12 union maintenance technicians and electricians in a fast-paced packaging and processing environment.
• The ideal candidate for this role will have a forward-thinking mindset, natural leadership abilities, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Additionally, excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of skilled Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in conducting predictive and preventative maintenance as well as machine repairs.
• Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance systems, processes, and documentation to ensure the efficient operation of a High Performing Manufacturing Organization.

This includes Prevention and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, SOPs, Safety, etc.

• Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities in collaboration with the Production department to ensure equipment and facility repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• Establish Key Performance Indicators to monitor and report on maintenance function performance, such as supplier and contractor performance, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Offer long-term solutions and day-to-day support to operational teams facing troubleshooting, problem analysis, and equipment failures.
• Provide training to employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Ensure all tasks are executed in compliance with USDA regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory documentation.
• Regularly report on maintenance activities to the management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, with a preference for an Associates degree or related Maintenance certifications.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in the food, consumer products, beverage, or related manufacturing industry.

However, we are open to candidates from any manufacturing environment.

• Strong technical skills in mechanical and electrical repair are a must. Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and support equipment (such as ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boilers, and compressed air) is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of maintenance systems, work orders, preventive / predictive maintenance, TPM, and inventory and scheduling software is preferred.
• Excellent leadership abilities, including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, empowerment, and delegation skills, are highly desirable.
• Proven capability to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts related to process issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good planning and priority-setting skills.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
