Duties & Responsibilities
Contribute to research groups' activities across campus by applying a combination of research, scientific, and technical expertise to address challenges in conducting research; including but not limited to:
Consulting on best practices for data collection methods and design of the REDCap project germane to data collection;
Developing or improving of REDCap projects (e.g., assisting researchers with translation of research into the REDCap system, building projects, and advanced user support)
Provide administrative support directly to research projects, this might include:
Applying knowledge of HIPAA, sensitive health, and other research data, that aligns with international, federal, or campus standards and regulations;
Reviewing individual projects for adherence to international, federal, or campus regulations and policies;
Receiving and processing routine requests from REDCap users.
Manage user account access including but not limited to reviewing user request forms, confirming training has been completed, and creating user accounts.
Contribute to training materials that will serve as a resource for using REDCap by providing guidance on software use, including, but not limited to:
Teaching workshops and seminars;
Holding office hours and other meetings with researchers;
Creating and updating help documents available on the website;
Publishing a regular newsletter for Illinois REDCap users.
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
Update and maintain logs of all user support requests and queries
Collaborate with Research IT to address technical support queries
Perform necessary changes in individual Illinois REDCap projects, as applicable
Generate and send pertinent announcements regarding updates, maintenance, etc.
Assist with annual compliance reviews
Additional responsibilities as needed to enhance the mission and goals of IHSI
Participate in the global REDCap Consortium via the community site, attending weekly calls, attending REDCapCon, and sitting on a consortium committee
