This is a very flexible event-based position that allows ushers to sign up for shifts that fit into their schedules. At an event, ushers will take tickets, pass out programs, and help patrons to their seats. Ushers also enforce Braden Auditorium policies, a task which entails frequent interaction with the public.
There are also opportunities for promotion based on performance evaluations.
A mandatory staff meeting must be completed prior to working any events.
Students may continue working every semester including summer break and other school breaks.

This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time; the ability to climb stairs; and the ability to push, pull or lift 25 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held.
