Job Summary
Student Counseling Services (SCS) offers a 10-month Externship/Advanced Therapy Practicum beginning August 1, 2024 and ending on May 31, 2025.
Our focus is to provide a strong clinical experience for our externs that integrates the development of clinical competence and ethical practice with professional growth and development in a supportive environment. Externs will have exposure to a full range of clinical services, therapeutic perspectives, and interdisciplinary skills found within a University Counseling Center. All the clinical services will be provided in person.
Additional Information
Applicants are selected based on previous clinical experience, recommendations from their home program and/or previous practicum, and an in-person interview with the Student Counseling Services staff.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$1200 to $1300 per month
Required Qualifications
1. Current enrollment in a Ph. or PsyD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
2. Completion of one doctoral therapy practicum
Work Hours
Generally Monday - Friday with occasional evening hours as business needs dictate
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
