Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team. As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution center and ensuring efficient and effective warehouse management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, inventory control, and materials handling.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff, including hiring and training.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize productivity and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the inventory control team.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring proper handling of materials and adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory, generate reports, and analyze data for process improvement.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, implementing OSHA guidelines for safety compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves delays in shift operations, ensuring shipping deadlines are met.
- Works with Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Supervisor in a distribution center or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including materials handling, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to lead a team effectively, providing guidance, coaching, and support
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High volume returns, Multi-facility oversite, and Customer facing.
- Must have previous experience in unload, distribution, and P&L.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices.
- Bilingual (Spanish) Recommended
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Exceptional work experience with a logistics company preferred.
