IIE Organization is Hiring a Remote Operations & Advising Coordinator, Gilman International Scholarship Program (Hybrid)

Job Description:

The Operations and Advising Coordinator works as a part of a dedicated, innovative, and responsive team which administers the Gilman International Scholarship Program on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).

The Operations and Advising Coordinator is a dynamic role which engages with many aspects of the Gilman Program’s operations including support for recipients, applicants, reporting, payments, and data management. Additionally, the Operations and Advising Coordinator provides administrative support for the Program Director and may facilitate selection panels.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors changing security conditions in host countries of Gilman Scholars and alerts program leadership of changes with pre-defined criteria.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for recipients regarding routine matters.
  • Reviews, approves, and tracks completion of follow-on project reports, recipient documentation and program updates.
  • During peak periods, may assist with application and selection, alumni, reporting, event management, outreach, and advisor support.
  • Requests and tracks payments to grantees and other vendors.
  • Assists with data management and ad hoc reports.

The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Education and Work Experience:

Requires an Associate's degree and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail, ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks, ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of working with Microsoft Office Suites including Excel.
  • Experience issuing payments and reviewing expense reports.
  • Reliable, mature decision maker, ability to manage secure data and exercise discretion.

Salary Range: $45,490 - $57,007. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
