IIE Organization is Hiring a Remote Enrichment Advisor, KGSP (Hybrid)

Job Description:

The KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) is a prestigious scholarship program sponsored by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) for STEM students from Saudi Arabia pursuing undergraduate degrees at top institutions in the United States. The Enrichment Advisor is part of a dynamic team that oversees the professional development of undergraduate students through extracurricular and experiential learning opportunities, including workshops, conferences, research internships, industrial internships, competitive fellowships, and awards for academic excellence.
The Enrichment Advisor works closely with KGSP students and the KGSP Student Advising team to identify customized enrichment experiences that individualize student objectives and further student preparation for prestigious awards, graduate study, and future careers in STEM fields. The Enrichment Advisor identifies high potential candidates and supports their application to award and fellowship opportunities through tailored advising for competitive national and international awards programs. The Enrichment Advisor requires advanced project management skills to support ongoing enrichment initiatives and the near and long-term strategic planning intended to support the Program’s continued success. The Enrichment Advisor will assist in enrichment program development and administration, while coaching the KGSP Student Advisors on issues related to student enrichment requirements and activity. The Enrichment Advisor supports sponsor reporting, as well as the creation of resources to further student readiness for research and job settings, and prepares promotional material spotlighting student achievements for Program leadership and external audiences. The Enrichment Advisor represents IIE and KGSP externally to program partners including high level university contacts and prestigious award programs, and occasionally liaised with members of the sponsor management team.

The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead research into suitable opportunities for prestigious awards, fellowships, competitions, enrichment, leadership, and other developmental opportunities to serve as the subject expert.
  • Generate customized matching of students to suitable summer and academic year enrichment opportunities in alignment with student objectives and programmatic guidelines, to present to students and the sponsor.
  • Review and provide approval recommendations of student enrichment opportunities in alignment with program guidance and budget.
  • Advise high potential undergraduate students on competitive enrichment opportunities and guide their development of competitive application materials. Identify candidates and communicate about enrichment programming, deadlines, and guide development of application components.
  • Provide guidance and direction to KGSP Student Advisors and serve as enrichment expert to communicate program information, resources, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Design and lead internal and external workshops and trainings on enrichment processes, opportunities, application preparation, and professional development resources.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge to create and maintain resource materials to support student professional development and enrichment. Provide guidance to Enrichment Coordinator to develop enrichment catalogs of annual conferences, campus internship fairs, undergraduate internships, and awards and competitions in the United States and Saudi Arabia.
  • Produce and analyze student, supervisor, and partner surveys to provide recommendations for further enhancements to enrichment processes and programming for future cycles.
  • Represent IIE and the KGSP externally to high level university contacts, prestigious award programs, and occasionally liaises with members of the sponsor management team.
  • Maintain accurate, current student files in IIE’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Create lists, verify data, and collaborate with Program Reports team regarding record maintenance and data quality control. Contribute to Enrichment reporting and deliverables.
  • Conduct site visits to current or prospective university and company partners to arrange for hosting of student interns; support program events in the United States and/or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience, or combination education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of U.S. and International higher education system, science and engineering fields, and/or career advising resources a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and high comfort with inter-cultural communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as scopes of work, policy and procedure manuals and write complex reports and correspondence.
  • Previous experience working with an extranet, web, database software, and social media networks preferred.

Salary Range:$50,039 - $63,998. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
