Job Summary

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for accepting RFP’s while completing them on time and in order of importance. Participates in all aspects of the bid/estimating process from review of plans and specs to soliciting and negotiating prices from contractors/suppliers. The Electrical Estimator will collaborate with the Project Manager to produce and complete bid proposals.

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification is a plus
  • Electrical Estimating: 1 year (Required)
  • Ability to understand the requirements/scope of the project at hand
  • Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
  • Deep understanding of estimating research
  • Basic computer skills
  • Team orientated with a great attitude
  • Proven experience as construction estimator. Experience with Procore or other estimating software is not required but it is preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable with a somewhat flexible schedule
  • Ability to work independently/ as a part of a team
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in accordance with industry regulations and company policies
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during shift
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Responsibilities

  • Visit project sites, warehouses, and other venues to gather essential information
  • Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
  • Ability to read and understand all site plans, not only electrical
  • Prioritize pipeline to complete higher priority estimates first
  • Perform value engineering when required
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for electrical projects
  • Foster relationships with key people (GC’s, subcontractors, architects etc.)
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to plan and execute electrical projects
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for electrical projects
  • Coordinate bid submissions and follow-up with clients to address any inquires
  • Local travel to job sites required, fuel reimbursements will be provided when using personal vehicle.
