JOB POSITION TITLE: SOLDERER/ASSEMBLER I
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
JOB POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty related to soldering, electronic and mechanical assembly.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF JOB POSITION
Work involves soldering/assembling in the manufacturing of a variety of technical specialty products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all soldering tasks within IPC class 3 standards.
Performs incorporation of Drawing Deviations (DDN), Engineering Change (ECN), and visual aids.
Maintains and operates soldering equipment.
Assists in the development of Travelers and Work Instructions.
Assists in the development of team goals and objectives.
Identifies methods to utilize Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) to reduce cycle time, defects, and costs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MENTORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
None.

QUALIFICATIONS

Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Proficient in team building skills.
Ability to operate soldering equipment.
Ability to interpret documents, work instructions, engineering change notices, drawing deviations, and schematics.
Ability to organize multiple tasks.
Willing to learn and ask questions when help is needed.
Familiar with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
Completion of a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job’s essential duties, such as those listed above.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
IPC J-STD Certification within 6 months of employment.
