Idea Recruitment has partnered with a local Non-Profit Organization to aide in their search for a Controller.
The client is seeking to hire a Controller who will be responsible for the overall management of the financial functions of the client and its subsidiary. This a full- time position.
Our client is located in the City of Fernandina Beach, FL and is a 501(c)(3) qualified organization.
Requirements:
- Responsibility for all financial administrative matters (approximately $2.3 million and growing)
- Management of accounts payable and receivable
- Reconciliation of cash, bank statements
- Creation of journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets and management of depreciation and amortization schedules
- Risk management, including establishing and maintaining internal financial controls and appropriate insurance coverages
- Cash management
- Working with external auditors regarding tax, audit and related matters
- Participation in preparation of annual budget
- Asset management
- Responsibility for payroll matters, including related tax filings.
- Competency in on-line Quickbooks or similar system.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports for the board of directors and attendance at monthly board meetings
- Such other matters as may be assigned related to the financial management of the business
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in non-profit accounting and financial management (Required)
- CPA (Preferred)
- Knowledge of GAAP and GASB
- 5 Years Accounting and Finance experience
- Bachelor Degree with a focus in Accounting and/or Finance (Preferred)
- Ability to work well with Executive Leadership and Operational Teams
