Role Mission: The mission of the CNP Regional Operations Manager is to streamline operational processes, maximize efficiencies & minimize costs whil e ensuring standardization is share d between regions for the benefit of all CNP campus teams. They adhere to the food and nutrition policies and guidelines set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the respective state agencies that monitor . More specifically, they lead and support campus CNP managers so they can successfully manage their respective teams to drive results for departmental goals . Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring a successful beginning of year execution, leading efforts to increase student participation in our meal program s , leading professional developments for campus CNP staff , ensuring all cafeterias follow federal, state , and local health codes for food safety, and coordinating with campus CNP teams in making College For All a reality.
What We Offer
Compensation:
  • Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $68,886 and $79,908, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on organizational performance and goal attainment.

  • Paid Family Leave: Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on their tenure with the organization and caregiver designation.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Staff members may apply for up to 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability.
  • Employer-Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face-to-face counseling sessions within a year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work-life services available at no cost.
Other benefits include dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, parenting benefits, generous vacation time, referral bonuses and professional development. IDEA may offer a relocation allowance to defray the cost of moving for this role, if applicable.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate degree (or equivalent college credit hours) in a relevant field and equivalent experience or a bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 2 years in management role(s), within food or hospitality related industry, oversight of multiple units
  • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable): Nationally recognized food safety certification
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Business awareness with working knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and processes used in food management
  • Knowledge of safety, security and sanitation procedures and their implementation in food operations
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coordinate with a diverse group across regions
  • Strong computer literacy, that includes an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e Word, Excel, PowerPointe)
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data (charts, graphs, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in English
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving, adaptability and flexibility skills
  • Can work independently with little direction
  • Can handle stress well to meet time sentitive deliverables
What You'll Do - Accountabilities:
Region Meets Budgeted Participation for Breakfast and Lunch by the Last Day of School
  • Ensure CNP Managers place food / non-food orders with accuracy as to ensure 100% execution of published menu
  • Ensure all cafeteria teams execute all meal service s to maximize student participation and minimiz e disruption to instruction
  • Collaborate with the CNP Training Manger to design and deliver training to bridge gaps impacting meal participation
  • Develop and maximize strategies and tools to market our meal services to IDEA families
  • Implement the Participation Escalation Protocol when participation targets are at risk
  • Collect information on recipe errors or meal pattern observations and encourage CNP managers to report these to Nutrition Team
  • Coordinate with CNP Finance and CNP Nutrition to execute pilots, initiatives, surveys or other information gathering projects for the purpose of increas ing student participation in the region or improving the menu
Region Achieves Food Cost Within /- 5% of Budgeted Food Cost by Last Day of School
  • Review food cost data for each campus in region in the Dashboard and Profit and Loss reports.
  • Follow up with Cafeteria Managers who are tracking to not meet the food cost goal to identify the causes.
  • Together with Cafeteria Managers, use and refine strategies to hit the food cost percentage, ensure they are being implemented effectively.
Region Meets 85% Retention of CNP Staff by June 30
  • Identify campus personnel needs based on student participation in our meal programs throughout the academic year
  • Interview, hire, and onboard new Cafeteria Managers in the region
  • Collaborate in developing and delivering training to CNP Managers on aspects of hiring, onboarding, internal culture and retention
  • Develop a system to measure and address employee satisfaction at the campus level
  • Ensure Cafeteria Managers are executing the Staff Development Cycle correctly and on schedule
  • Mediate or intervene with all potential CNP exits
  • 100% of programmed schools in operation with CNP campus staff hired, food and kitchen ready by the first day of school.
  • Cascade to the region our beginning of year plan
  • Ensure all teams use the CNP Quick Start to assess their readiness and close any gaps that can jeopardize the launch of the new academic year
  • Instruct & coordinate with Cafeteria Managers as to placing their order for cafeteria tables, smallware and office supplies for delivery in July
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is functioning in time for BOY
  • Ensure Prep Week protocol is executed the week before first day of school
  • Conduct follow up debrief or step back meeting with APO/CM in days following the first day of school, identify causes for gaps and opportunities
  • Coordinate with campus APOs to ensure they are also holding their campus CNP managers accountable for BOY plan execution
Region Meets an average "A" Rating on Internal Audits with no Relevant Follow Up Finding from External Audits by June 30
  • Perform internal audits of all campuses in region as scheduled and with fidelity , and support with all audit-related deliverables
    • Travel to neighboring regions to perform internal audits
    • Collaborate with other RMs and Director of Operations to improve the internal audit tool
    • Ensure cafeteria teams are executing the menu as published and course correct as needed
    • Monitor internal tracker showing completed food production records ; implement corrective action in cases of non-compliance
    • Support the CNP Finance team to execute audit strategy when we are notified an administrative review (state audit) is taking place
    • Support all of CNP HQ and campuses with corrective action plans as needed when internal or external agencies identify gaps or communicate findings after an audit
Average an "A" rating on CNP BOY scorecards for the region .
  • C ascade to the region our beginning of year plan
