Role Overview: Head of Collections

Idea Financial, a tech-enabled digital small business lender, is hiring a Head of Collections to lead the internal and external collections efforts for Idea Financial and LevelEsq. This role will report to Idea Financial’s Chief Risk Officer and be on location at either our Miami, FL or Richmond, VA offices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead advancement and implementation of collections policy, process, procedures, reporting, and automation.

• Review daily return reports to determine which customers have missed payments.

• Communicate with customers by text, email, and phone to ensure payments continue timely and without default.

• Work with customers and the Finance Department to provide hardship assistance where permitted.

• Ensure UCC filings are timely to protect company interests.

• Initiate UCC enforcement actions and/or assign a team member to do so with your oversight.

• Source local counsel from states where delinquencies and defaults have occurred, negotiate fee arrangements with local counsel, monitor local counsel, ensure efficiency and speed of collection from local counsel, monitor litigation.

• Work internally with Idea paralegals to organize and categorize defaults.

• Meet collections goals on a monthly quota basis.

Requirements

• 7 years of small business collection experience including early-stage loss mitigation, internal collections, collection agency and litigation, and debt placement
• 3 years of experience managing people
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Residence in either Miami-Dade County or the Greater Richmond, Virginia area
