Job Description

TheNative American Student Services (NASS) Coordinator provides student supportservices to current and prospective students and their families. The NASSCoordinator is responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the studentcenter and is a critical member of the OEI leadership team. This positionrequires initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in developing andimplementing social and academic programming centered on Native Americanstudents' experiences. This position will frequently interact with students andtheir families, faculty, university administration, tribal departments, andother key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

●Serve as the main point of contact and resource for current and prospectivestudents and their families, faculty, staff, and Native American communities.
●Supervise, mentor, coach, and support student employees, interns, volunteers,and students utilizing the Native American Student Center.
● Manage the NASSprogram calendar, including social and academic programming.
● Responsible forchairing the Indigenous People's Day planning committee, Native AmericanHeritage Month, and other university initiatives relating to Indigenous People.
● Evaluate all NASS event programming, including collecting and analyzing datafor regular reports.
● Serve as an ongoing resource to the Native AmericanStudent Council and affiliated student organizations.
● Engage with otherEquity and Inclusion staff to ensure programs and services are delivered from aperspective that includes intersections of race, ethnicity, gender identity,sexual orientation, socio-economic class, disability, and other significantaspects of individual and cultural identity.
● Develop, oversee, and prepareprogram budgets, budget summaries, and financial reports.
● Serve as a liaisonbetween students, parents, colleges/universities, community agencies, tribaleducation, and ISU college/school/departments.
● Manages the NASS website,creating user-friendly content and tools to assist the campus community withunderstanding NASS programs.
● Conduct outreach to Native American Communities,including K-12 education initiatives, career days, and other relevant events.
●Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

●Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution.

● Minimum of 2 yearsexperience working with student, community, or vulnerable populationorganizations.

● Strong collaboration skills with internal and externalstakeholders.

● Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
 
Preferred Qualifications

●Previous experience working in a Higher Education setting

● Strong publicspeaking and presentation skills

● Previous experience organizing and planningevents

● Training in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysismethods

Additional Information

Salary will be between $51,000 - $58,000 per year,commensurate with education and experience.
