The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring patrol deputies. The Idaho County Sheriff's Office employs 20 sworn deputies. Idaho County is a unique location with 8,500 square miles to cover, including in part or entirety three different wilderness areas, however Idaho County has a low population density of approximately 17,000 people. The Snake River, the Salmon River, and the Clearwater River all run through Idaho County and provide numerous opportunities for hunting and fishing.

Deputies routinely do search and rescue operations in these areas as well as their normal duties. Idaho County provides an opportunity for a wide variety of law enforcement duties, making it a fun and unique place to work. Duties can vary from deputy coroner to search and rescue to major case investigations, just to name a few.

Idaho County offers an excellent medial/optical/dental package and PERSI retirement. We offer competitive wages starting at $23.00/DOE with paid PTO. Idaho County also offers many paid overtime opportunities.
