GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Inventory Planner is responsible for evaluating and managing optimal inventory levels by partnering with buyers to ensure inventory is delivered in a timely manner. This position communicates directly with the Customer Care Team regarding delivery dates to ensure stock levels are at a sufficient level and works with management to develop inventory related goals.

CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluate and manage optimal inventory levels for assigned categories.

• Determine order quantities and send them to buyers for purchase orders.

• Partner with buyers to ensure timely delivery of inventory.

• Partner with plant personnel to maintain optimal inventory levels and determine transfer amounts.

• Communicate with Customer Care and Plants that are out of stock regarding expected delivery dates.

• Attend physical inventories and assist in the review of inventory values.

• Maintain purchase order schedule and email weekly. Add new orders, remove delivered orders, track containers, update ETA’s and actual shipped quantities. Follow up with buyers if orders have not shipped by the requested ship date.

• Enter Import Purchase Order into ERP for buyers and adjust quantities as needed.

• Work with management to develop inventory related goals.

• Forecast and report inventory value levels.

• Create and improve inventory reports.

• Well-rounded management and operational trouble shooting abilities with excellent problem- solving techniques.

• Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and openness to new opportunities.

• Perform assigned special projects and create ad hoc reports.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have strong organizational and administrative skills.

• Advanced Excel skills, ERP (Infor M3 preferred), and Business Intelligence Software experience required.

• Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a cross-departmental team.

• Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must be results oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.

• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• The ability to work occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
